Kyoto
Kyoto is considered to be the cultural capital of Japan. At the end of the nineteenth century, after eleven centuries, the imperial court moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. Major tourist attraction are the Kyoto Imperial Palace and numerous temples, Shinto shrines, palaces and gardens.
