Kolkata, called Calcutta until 2001, is the capital of West Bengal and one of the most populated cities of India. Until 1911 Calcutta was the the capital of the British-held territories in India. There are several buildings from the British era, among them the Victoria Memorial, dedicated to Queen Victoria. The photographs below are from 2005.
