Roman Remains, Cologne

In 50AD the Romans founded the city Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium (CCAA) on the grounds of a German settlement. Today known as Cologne, CCAA became the provincial capital of Germania Inferior. There are still some remains of the Roman wall that surrounded CCAA, including remains of towers and gates. Today, these ancient remains are very much part of daily life and its surroundings, perhaps not always treated with the attention they might deserve.
